About Us
Milton Freewater Unified School District is a rural 3A district located in Northeast Oregon on the east side of Umatilla County. We are nine miles from Walla Walla, Washington and thirty- five miles from the county seat. Within Umatilla County we are the third most populated community with a population of 7,100.
MFUSD student enrollment is approximately 1,700. Our historical McLoughlin High School is the home of our 9th-12th grade students, Central Middle School our 6th- 8th graders, Ferndale Elementary School is where you will find our 4th and 5th grade students and our K-3rd grade students call Gib Olinger Elementary School home. Our Little Pioneers and Milton Freewater Virtual Learning Academy share Freewater School with a few of our local community partners, the YMCA and InterMountain ESD. The YMCA offers a before and afterschool care program, preschool and summer camp activities while IMESD provides Early Intervention and Early Childhood Special Education services for our families.
