Board Goals for 2011-12

  1. SUPERINTENDENT EVALUATION
    Develop evaluation process that provides opportunity for all parties to participate.
    1. Establish working agreement.
    2. Complete mid-year evaluation with input from staff and community.
    3. Finalize evaluation with recommendation to extend the contract or go out for a search.
  2. PUBLIC RELATIONS
    Provide opportunity for activities that support positive public relationships.
    1. Conduct public workshop to share and gather input from the public.
    2. Establish communications with the City to review existing or potential collaborative efforts.
    3. Conduct community surveys to gather input from the public.
  3. STAFF RELATIONS
    Provide opportunity for activities that support positive staff relationships.
    1. Actively pursue staff involvement in superintendent evaluation.
    2. Conduct quarterly Board member visitations to district buildings for the purpose of listening.
    3. Each Board member will dedicate a minimum of one day to visiting classrooms during the instructional period.
  4. RESOURCES
    Research and identify potential cost saving recommendations.
    1. Search for creative funding opportunities to cover the cost of educational needs and maintenance projects. b. Research levy/bond measure as a budget supplement option.
  5. EVALUATIONS
    Review existing staff evaluation processes.
    1. Review the tools used in evaluating staff and initiate change, if necessary.
    2. Conduct a Board self-evaluation.
  6. SAFETY
    Review safety procedures and develop related plan for improvement.
    1. Review and develop ongoing district safety procedures.
    2. Review playground and bus delivery safety at each building site.
    3. Conduct a district-wide crisis management drill.
    4. Identify locations on our campuses students/staff consider unsafe.
  7.   FACILITIES
    Insure district facilities look their best.
    1. Identify maintenance projects on district properties.
    2. Clean up and maintain school grounds.
    3. Find creative way to involve community in the process of improving district facilities.
    4. Target to work with the community to make the 9th Street property more appealing.
  8.   BOARD GOALS
    1. Quarterly review and evaluate progress in meeting the 2011-2012 Board Goals.
